Role Overview We are looking for a driven Android Developer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, high-impact mobile products. You'll own features end-to-end on our native Android app — used daily by parents and educators across 50+ countries — while collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and ship features in our native Android application
• Develop and maintain modules using Java
• Work with real-time data systems like Firebase Realtime Database
• Integrate REST APIs and third-party SDKs including payment gateways
• Optimize for performance, memory, and battery across a wide range of devices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve engineering practices
• Leverage AI tools like Claude and GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity

Required Skills

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Android development
• Strong proficiency in Java
• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK, app lifecycle, and threading
• Experience with Firebase (Realtime Database, Auth, Cloud Messaging) or similar real-time systems
• Familiarity with REST APIs and modern mobile architecture
• Basic to intermediate understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL)
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven systems
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

Good to Have

• Experience working with AI tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot
• Experience integrating third-party payment gateway SDKs
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Understanding of performance optimization and scalability
• Prior experience in a startup environment
