Application Engineer

Role Summary

The Application Engineer – Industrial will provide comprehensive technical support, engineering consultancy, and application expertise for bearings and lubrication. The role involves supporting OEMs, distributors, and end customers in pre-sales and post-sales activities, ensuring correct product selection, troubleshooting, and driving business development through value-added product solutions. This position contributes significantly to customer satisfaction and regional business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Application Engineering

• Provide technical consultancy for bearings and lubrication products to industrial customers.

• Perform bearing selection, engineering calculations, design feasibility checks, and root cause analysis of bearing failures.

• Troubleshoot bearing application issues and provide corrective/preventive solutions.

• Prepare technical documents including application questionnaires, evaluation sheets, technical proposals, and failure analysis reports.

• Support bearing installation, maintenance, lubrication diagnostics, and basic condition-monitoring activities.

Customer Engagement & Value Creation

• Understand customer application needs and recommend high-value engineering solutions.

• Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal engineering/R&D teams.

• Obtain technical approval for new customers or applications through strong technical expertise.

Training & Technical Enablement

• Conduct technical seminars, presentations, and workshops for customers and internal teams.

• Provide training on bearing installation, maintenance practices, lubrication, and application knowledge.

Market Insights & Business Development

• Collaborate with product managers on new applications, market development, and product positioning.

• Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to support regional strategy.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through strong application understanding.

• Contribute to new business development by leveraging technical competency and application expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role within the bearing industry, OR mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industries (Steel/Cement/Power) with a strong understanding of rotating equipment, bearing, lubrication and troubleshooting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement.

• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and manage technical assignments efficiently.

• Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally internationally based on business needs.
