Grounds Worker

Your new company
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Grounds Person to join a busy maintenance and environmental services team operating throughout the East Belfast area. This long-term contract offers stable work for a motivated individual with experience in grounds works, paving, kerbing, and general external maintenance activities.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, capable of working independently or as part of a team, and committed to delivering a high standard of workmanship while maintaining safe working practices at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Grounds Person or in a similar role.
• Practical experience in:
  • Flagging and paving
  • Kerbing
  • Groundworks
  • External maintenance works
• Valid CSR Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to operate effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Strong work ethic and a flexible attitude towards duties and locations.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience within social housing, public sector, or property maintenance environments.
• Groundworks or construction-related qualifications.
• Experience using small plant and machinery.
• Additional skills in fencing, drainage, concreting, or landscaping.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out flagging and paving repairs and installations.
• Install and repair kerbing as required.
• Undertake general grounds maintenance and environmental improvement works.
• Complete excavation, preparation, and reinstatement works.
• Carry out basic concreting and external maintenance tasks.
• Operate hand tools and small plant equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
• Assist with planned and reactive maintenance works across a range of sites.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
• Accurately record completed works and report any issues to supervisors.
