Procurement Team Leader

Job Description

We are supporting an established international organisation in the search for an experienced Procurement Team Lead to join its German operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines commercial acumen, technical understanding and strong people leadership. You will lead a small procurement function while remaining closely involved in supplier management, negotiations and day-to-day purchasing activities.

The Role

• Lead, support and develop the procurement team
\n
• Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure smooth procurement processes
\n
• Manage purchasing across both rental and investment requirements
\n
• Source and evaluate suppliers, quotations and commercial proposals
\n
• Lead price, terms and contract negotiations
\n
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers
\n
• Ensure timely availability of required goods and services
\n
• Monitor the end-to-end purchasing process and maintain accurate ERP documentation
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, commercial terms and overall procurement efficiency
\n
• Drive continuous improvement across the procurement function
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Technical vocational qualification, ideally within engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, technical services or a related field
\n
• Previous experience leading or managing employees
\n
• Background in procurement, purchasing, operations or a technical environment
\n
• Strong technical understanding and the ability to assess products and services from both a technical and commercial perspective
\n
• Confident negotiator with strong supplier management skills
\n
• Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
\n
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities
\n
• Strong focus on quality, reliability and deadlines
\n
• Experience with ERP, inventory or purchasing systems
\n
• Good Microsoft Office skills
\n
• Fluent German and English
\n
