Job Summary:
The Cost Manager MEP will be responsible for quantity surveying activities across multiple projects, ensuring cost efficiency and contract compliance. This role involves prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, change control processesand managing high-value contracts. The Cost Manager MEP will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects within budget while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Cost Management:
    • Follow the cost control strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
    • Prepare and review detailed financial reports for all interior fitout projects
    • Support value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Ensure that all contracts are administered in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
    • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring they are resolved effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Commercial Governance:
    • Interim Valuations: Review the main contractor's monthly payment applications and certify payments based on actual verified site progress.
    • Variation Assessment: Evaluate, negotiate, and approve or reject changes, ensuring variations match the agreed commercial market rates
    • Cost Reporting: Maintain the project cost, financial forecast, track contingency funds, and issue monthly financial reports to stakeholders
    • Final Account Settlement: Lead the negotiation and final closure of the main construction contract to close the project accounts
    • Software Utilization:Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) effectively for BOQ validation, quantity take-off and summarize quantities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on project costs, financial status, and potential risks.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all quantity surveying activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in cost estimation, contract management, and financial reporting.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure project compliance and financial integrity.
