Job Description

Mukunda Shiva & Associates (MS Associates) is a premier chartered accountancy firm providing consulting services across audit and assurance, accounting, business planning and advisory, statutory compliance, and taxation.


Role Overview

The Team Lead is responsible for managing a team of executives and associates, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting, taxation, auditing and assurance and compliance services to clients. The role acts as a bridge between Managers/Partners and the execution team, with a strong focus on quality control, client coordination, and team development.


Key Responsibilities


Client & Assignment Management

  • Handle day-to-day client requirements related to accounting, compliance, and reporting
  • Act as the first level of review before submissions are escalated to Managers/Partners
  • Coordinate with clients for data collection, clarifications, and issue resolution
  • Ensure adherence to agreed timelines and service-level commitments

Accounting & MIS Oversight

  • Review bookkeeping, ledger scrutiny, and month-end / year-end closures
  • Supervise preparation of MIS reports, variance analysis, and reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy in bank, GST, TDS, and other statutory reconciliations
  • Support finalisation of accounts under supervision of senior leadership

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Oversee preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, Income Tax returns, and related workings
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, LLP Act, and other applicable regulations
  • Assist in handling notices, assessments, and audit queries
  • Track statutory due dates and ensure zero non-compliance

Team Leadership & Review

  • Allocate work among team members and monitor progress
  • Review work output for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Guide, train, and mentor executives and associates
  • Identify skill gaps and support continuous learning within the team

Process & Quality Improvement

  • Follow and enforce MSA’s SOPs, checklists, and internal controls
  • Identify recurring issues and suggest process improvements
  • Support standardisation and automation initiatives
  • Maintain proper documentation and working papers
