Back End Developer

We’re looking for a Backend Developer who can take ownership of our backend systems and help us build, maintain, and scale reliable production applications.

You’ll work across APIs, databases, real-time communication, payments, deployments, monitoring, and performance optimization. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable owning backend problems end-to-end rather than only working on isolated tickets.

What You’ll Do

• Build, maintain, and optimize Node.js + Express backend services
• Design and develop scalable REST APIs
• Design and manage MongoDB / Mongoose schemas
• Build and maintain WebSocket / Socket.io based real-time features
• Integrate and maintain payment gateways such as Razorpay, Cashfree, PhonePe, or similar providers
• Build reliable transaction, wallet, ledger, and payout-related backend flows
• Work with Redis for caching, queues, and background processing
• Monitor production servers, logs, application health, and system performance
• Set up alerts and help respond to production incidents
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize APIs, databases, and backend services
• Manage deployments and basic production infrastructure
• Improve backend reliability, scalability, security, and error handling
• Debug and resolve production issues independently
• Work closely with frontend and product teams to ship features end-to-end

Must Have

• 1+ years of hands-on Node.js backend development experience
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and Express.js
• Strong understanding of MongoDB and Mongoose
• Good understanding of REST API design and backend architecture
• Hands-on experience with WebSockets / Socket.io
• Experience integrating payment gateways
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, validations, and API security
• Basic DevOps knowledge including deployments, server logs, restarts, and production debugging
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand and work with an existing production codebase

Good to Have

• Experience with Redis for caching or job queues
• Experience deploying applications on AWS, GCP, Railway, or similar platforms
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD
• Familiarity with load testing tools such as k6 or JMeter
• Experience working on high-read, high-concurrency, or real-time applications
• Knowledge of payment, fintech, transaction, or ledger systems
• Experience building scalable background jobs and asynchronous workflows
