Assistant Accountant

You'll love this role if you enjoy getting into the detail, solving problems and making sure the numbers stack up. This 12-month contract will see you working across reconciliations, journals, financial accounting activities and month-end processes that help keep the business running smoothly.

The work is structured and deadline-driven, particularly around month-end, but there's plenty of variety. One day you might be investigating recon differences, the next you'll be supporting fixed asset activities, processing transactions or working with stakeholders across the business to resolve queries.

You'll join a team that values accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement, with support from experienced finance leaders who can help you build your technical skills and broaden your understanding of the insurance industry.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations as part of monthly accounting activities.
• Managing daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigating any unreconciled items.
• Supporting general ledger management, fixed assets and claims recovery activities where required.
• Processing invoices.
• Corporate credit card transactions when needed.
• Working with stakeholders across the business to resolve queries and support finance processes.
• Assisting with audits, compliance activities, projects and process improvements across the Finance team.
