Position: Senior Associate Counsellor – Admissions / Inside Sales 

Department: Admissions / Student Counselling 

Employment Type: Full-Time


Experience: 3–6 years of relevant experience in EdTech, Education Consultancy, Admissions Counselling, or Academic Counselling 


Educational Qualification: Graduate or Postgraduate in any relevant discipline. Candidates with backgrounds in Management, Commerce, Arts, Education, Psychology, or related fields will be preferred.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Senior Associate Counsellor to join our admissions counselling team. The candidate will be responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their academic and career aspirations, recommending suitable courses and colleges, and converting qualified leads into successful admissions. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent knowledge of the higher-education ecosystem, and proven experience in EdTech/education counselling and admissions sales. 


Key Responsibilities:

Student Counselling & Admissions: 

  • Counsel students and parents regarding UG and PG courses, colleges, universities, and career opportunities. 
  • Understand students' academic background, interests, career goals, and financial considerations. 
  • Recommend suitable courses, colleges, and programs based on student requirements.
  • Provide accurate information regarding eligibility, admission procedures, fees, scholarships, placements, and course structure. 
  • Handle student queries through calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels. 
  • Follow up consistently with prospective students and parents until the admission process is completed. 

Lead Management & Conversion:

  • Handle leads generated through digital marketing, website enquiries, campaigns, referrals, and other sources. 
  • Maintain regular follow-ups and ensure effective lead nurturing. 
  • Achieve assigned monthly admission and revenue targets. 
  • Maintain a strong conversion ratio from enquiry to admission. 
  • Identify high-potential leads and prioritize them accordingly. 
  • Reconnect with old, missed, and inactive leads to generate additional conversions. 

Sales & Performance 

  • Drive admissions through consultative selling and effective counselling techniques.
  • Handle objections related to fees, college selection, course choice, location, placements, and competitors. 
  • Negotiate and communicate appropriately with students and parents while maintaining company standards. 
  • Consistently achieve individual and team KPIs. 
  • Contribute to achieving overall branch and organizational admission targets. 

CRM & Reporting 

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, calls, follow-ups, counselling details, and admission status in the CRM/HRM system. 
  • Update lead status and follow-up activities on a daily basis. 
  • Prepare regular reports related to lead conversion, admissions, follow-ups, and pending cases. 
  • Ensure no qualified lead is missed due to inadequate follow-up. 

Team Support & Senior Responsibilities 

  • Support and guide junior counsellors in handling difficult student/parent queries.
  • Assist team members with objection handling and conversion strategies.
  • Share successful counselling practices and market insights with the team. 
  • Coordinate with the admissions, marketing, operations, and management teams.
  • Take ownership of assigned leads, campaigns, and admission targets. 


Required Skills:

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in EdTech / Education Counselling / Admissions / Inside Sales. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong counselling and convincing abilities.
  • Good knowledge of UG/PG admissions and higher education programs. 
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent follow-up and relationship-management skills. 
  • Ability to handle pressure and work with monthly targets.
  • Strong objection-handling and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems, MS Office, WhatsApp, and basic computer applications. 
  • Ability to independently manage leads from enquiry to admission. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-handling skills.
