Junior Accountant

We're partnering with a growing US-based company looking to hire a Controller to join their accounting team in Colombia. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to take real ownership of accounting operations and tax compliance while working directly with US leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Coordinate monthly tax filings and ensure full compliance with Colombian regulations
• Manage relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors
• Communicate directly with US leadership — verbally and in writing (memos, reports, updates)
• Support and mentor accounting team members as the team grows

What We're Looking For

• Solid, hands-on experience with Colombian corporate tax and accounting, this is the most important requirement
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Colombian CPA/Contador Público is a plus, but not required if your accounting background is strong)
• Working English — comfortable communicating verbally and in writing with US-based leadership
• Full-cycle accounting experience: close processes, reconciliations, financial statements

Not Required

• US tax knowledge is not needed — Colombian tax expertise is what matters here

Nice to Have

• Experience with accounting ERPs such as ContaPyme, Siigo, SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar
• Prior experience working with international or US-based companies
