Job DescriptionOffice Administrator | 14-Month Contract | €32-36k | Cork City | Fully Onsite Your new company Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating within the utilities and technical services sector. As part of ongoing growth and organisational development, they are seeking an experienced Office Administrator to join their Cork-based team on a 14-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will join a close-knit administrative function that supports a wider team of operational staff, technicians and field-based engineers in a busy and collaborative environment.
Your new role This is a varied and fast-paced administrative position that offers a mix of customer service, operational coordination and general office support. Working onsite as part of a busy team, you will be involved in supporting customers, colleagues, suppliers and managers while ensuring day-to-day administrative processes run efficiently. A key aspect of the role involves handling customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
Customers regularly visit the office with service-related queries, and you will play an important role in ensuring they receive a professional and efficient experience. You will also be responsible for processing customer orders, preparing quotations, maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems. The role includes supporting billing, invoicing, credit control and accounts administration activities, as well as processing overtime and expense submissions for field-based teams.
You will regularly liaise with suppliers regarding equipment pricing, availability and lead times, while also providing administrative support to operational teams and management. This position would suit an experienced administrator who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders and can confidently manage multiple tasks and interruptions throughout the day while maintaining a high level of accuracy. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years' administrative experience, with candidates bringing 4+ years' experience particularly desirable to the position.
You will have previously worked in a busy, fast-paced environment and be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to will be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and be confident learning and working across multiple systems. Experience liaising with suppliers, vendors or external service providers would be advantageous, although full training will be communication skills, reliability and a positive attitude are essential. The successful candidate will be highly organised, capable of working on their own initiative, and comfortable building relationships with customers, colleagues and external stakeholders.
They will enjoy variety, be adaptable to changing priorities and take ownership of tasks through to completion.
