Role Description The Delivery Driver role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago land area. The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering furniture and home goods to customers’ homes, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition. Daily tasks include inspecting delivery vehicles, following scheduled routes, navigating local areas, and assembling or placing furniture as requested.
The role also involves providing courteous in-home customer service, communicating delivery updates, handling basic paperwork and signatures, and reporting any delivery issues or damages. The Delivery Driver works closely with warehouse and showroom teams to coordinate orders and maintain a clean, organized vehicle and work area.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills to provide respectful, professional support during deliveries and address customer questions or concerns.
- Training experience in guiding or mentoring team members on delivery procedures or safety practices.
- Sales awareness or experience to support add-on services or products when interacting with customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
ability to operate box trucks or similar delivery vehicles. - Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy furniture and packages, often in stairways or tight spaces.
- Basic knowledge of furniture assembly tools and techniques;
ability to follow written instructions. - Dependable attendance, punctuality, and adherence to safety and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
prior delivery or logistics experience is an advantage.
