Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is looking to develop their experience and progress their career within a busy finance environment.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of financial information, month-end and year-end reporting, financial controls, and general accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of complex journal entries and financial statements as part of the monthly and year-end close processes.
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, ensuring business transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately documented.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to provide an accurate view of current and projected financial position.
- Review and audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and supporting documentation, preparing reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Support the development and recommendation of financial control systems and processes to ensure information is accurate, timely, and reliable.
- Assist with general accounting activities and provide support to the wider finance function as required.
- Support all relevant safety and quality programmes and initiatives.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required, based on the evolving needs of the business and the requirements of the position.
Candidate Requirements
- Part-qualified professional accounting qualification at CIMA, ACA, or ACCA level, or an Accounting Technician qualification.
- 2โ4 years' relevant accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Good administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to learning, development, and taking on new responsibilities.
