Role overview

We are hiring an accountant to own reconciliations and core finance operations across our entities. You will report to the Group CFO and work day to day with our external accountants, auditors, and vendors, keeping cashflows, accounts, and records clean and current in a modern, technology-enabled environment.

Key finance responsibilities

• Perform regular bank, card, and petty cash reconciliations across multiple accounts, entities, and currencies.
• Match and reconcile transactions between bank statements, accounting records, internal trackers, and platform exports (Excel/Google Sheets).
• Maintain and update cashflow trackers, payment calendars, and reporting dashboards.
• Support month-end routines: preparing reconciliation files, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and chasing missing documentation.
• Own the vendor relationship on the finance side: onboarding, invoice queries, payment scheduling, and statement reconciliation.
• Track accounts payable and receivable (vendors, service providers, rental income) and ensure timely recording and follow-up.
• Organise and digitise financial documents (contracts, invoices, receipts, statements) in a structured, searchable filing system.
• Prepare clear reports and schedules for the Group CFO showing reconciled balances, outstanding items, and upcoming cash requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants, bookkeepers, and auditors, providing reconciled data and well-organised supporting schedules.

Additional responsibilities

• Support ad hoc financial analysis and data-cleaning tasks for investment and real estate projects.
• Assist with building and maintaining internal trackers for investments, properties, and operational metrics.
• Contribute to process improvement by identifying opportunities to automate or simplify repetitive finance tasks.

Tech and AI expectations

• Confident hands-on use of cloud accounting systems such as Xero, Sage (50/200/Business Cloud), QuickBooks, Pastel, or similar platforms.persona+1
• Practical use of LLMs in daily work: summarising contracts, structuring messy exports, drafting exception lists, and building spreadsheet logic.
• Comfort in a cloud-first stack — Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack, and a task tool such as Airtable, Trello, or Asana.
• Genuine curiosity about automation (OCR, prompt templates, integrations) and a bias towards removing manual steps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.indeed
• Part-qualified accountant at finalist level with a recognised professional body (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or international equivalent) — training and academic requirements complete and eligible to sit final examinations.
• 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role with substantial reconciliation ownership.
• Demonstrable experience with at least one major accounting system (Xero, Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks or equivalent) and strong Excel skills.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Dublin; primarily office-based.
• Appetite for international travel — around 20% of the year visiting our entities and assets abroad, giving you direct exposure to the businesses behind the numbers and to local advisors and partners.
• Solid grasp of reconciliations (bank vs ledger, statement vs internal tracker) and strong numerical fluency.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical, organised working style.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to work independently while coordinating with distributed teams.
• High integrity and reliability — you take ownership of keeping records accurate and closing open items.

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary: €30,000 – €37,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Discretionary performance bonus based on individual and firm outcomes.
