We are a large and busy Chinese restaurant located in Canley Vale and are currently seeking an experienced Function Manager / Banquet Manager to join our team.

This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing weddings, banquets, corporate functions and other special events, ensuring each function runs smoothly and guests receive a high standard of service.

This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing weddings, banquets, corporate functions and other special events, ensuring each function runs smoothly and guests receive a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operation of banquets and functions
  • Liaise with customers regarding event arrangements, table plans, menus and special requirements
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, bar and front-of-house teams before and during events
  • Supervise, brief and allocate duties to banquet and service staff
  • Ensure function rooms are set up correctly and events run according to schedule
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation, cleanliness and workplace safety
  • Assist with staff rostering and training when required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in banquet, function or restaurant management
  • Experience working in a large or high-volume restaurant, function venue or hospitality environment
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to lead and coordinate a team in a busy environment
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • Fluent English and fluent Mandarin and/or Cantonese, as required to communicate with our customers and team members
  • Availability to work weekends is essential
  • Flexibility to work evenings and public holidays when functions are scheduled
  • Current Australian working rights
  • A valid NSW RSA certificate, or willingness to obtain one
