About the role

EARTH AI is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operation of equipment and machinery at our Auburn facility, alongside responsibility for routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs. This is a practical role involving the operation of equipment, processing and cutting of drill core, handling materials, and supporting day-to-day warehouse activities. You will also be responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained, serviced, and operating safely and reliably.

You will carry out preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, fault identification, and basic repairs, while supporting warehouse organisation, inventory, logistics, and sample preparation. The role is primarily based at our Auburn facility, with occasional travel to remote exploration sites as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and basic machinery as part of day-to-day warehouse and core processing operations
  • Operate core saw equipment and carry out drill core cutting and sample preparation
  • Safely load, unload, lift, and transport core trays, equipment, and warehouse materials
  • Support the setup and day-to-day operation of the workspace and warehouse
  • Carry out preventative and routine maintenance, servicing, equipment inspections, fault identification, and basic repairs
  • Conduct pre-start checks and identify equipment faults, wear, and upcoming maintenance requirements
  • Maintain and service core saw equipment, including pre-start checks, repairs, and oversight of the saw container
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and coordinate specialised repairs where required
  • Maintain maintenance schedules, service records, and documentation for plant and equipment
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics of core, equipment, and consumables, including transport to and from exploration sites

About you

  • A maintenance background with a relevant trade qualification is preferred
  • Previous experience in equipment operation, maintenance, servicing, repairs, or a similar hands-on mechanical role
  • Comfortable operating machinery and equipment as a regular part of your role
  • Practical mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
  • Comfortable carrying out preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, fault finding, and basic repairs
  • Experience operating or maintaining plant, machinery, vehicles, or industrial equipment would be highly regarded
  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and hands-on operational work
  • Reliable, organised, adaptable, and able to work as part of a team
