Contract: Maximum Term Parental leave cover 12 October 2026 to 5 November 2027

Hours: Full time

Annual Salary: $100,506.13 + 12% super + salary packaging

Are you a detail-focused finance professional who enjoys connecting financial reporting with day-to-day finance operations? We are seeking an Accountant to help deliver accurate, timely and high-quality financial services across the PHN.

This key integration role within our Finance Team will support reporting, transactional finance, systems improvement and financial compliance. You will use strong communication and analytical skills to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As Accountant, you will:

  • Assist with monthly financial and management reporting and support distribution within agreed timeframes.
  • Coordinate and support accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, banking and asset records.
  • Support month-end reconciliations, audit preparation and cost and allocation enquiries.
  • Maintain key finance systems, including Business Central, Continia and EFTsure, and support credit card processing and system maintenance.
  • Lead system improvement, modernisation, testing and process mapping within the Finance function.
  • Help strengthen financial literacy across the PHN by explaining financial concepts and coaching staff.
  • Maintain current financial policies, procedures and team system notes, while supporting compliance with FBT, GST and other legislative deadlines.
  • Backup and support for AP/AR responsibilities (Data Entry)

What you will bring to the role

  • Qualifications in Accounting and/or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Experience preparing financial reports.
  • Competence using accounting software, such as Business Central, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • The ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and explain accounting and financial concepts to non-accountants.
  • The ability to manage conflicting deadlines, work independently and contribute to a dynamic and flexible team.
  • An improvement mindset, strong attention to detail and effective communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience incorporating Power Apps and Power BI into reporting solutions, and experience with funding grants and acquittals, will be highly regarded.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time maximum-term parental leave cover position from 12 October 2026 to 5 November 2027.
  • This role is classified within the I-M salary band under our Enterprise Agreement. Remuneration will be commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications. Appointments will be made at the J classification level.
  • Portable leave and portable long service leave schemes do not apply to the PHN, including NSW Health Portable Leave and the Community Services Industry scheme.
