Casual Analyst opportunity – Melbourne-based

We are seeking Melbourne-based Economics Honours and Master’s students or recent graduates for a paid casual Analyst opportunity with our Melbourne team.

About the role

This paid role provides an opportunity to apply economics and quantitative analysis to real-world policy and market challenges.

The successful candidate will contribute to projects across agriculture, water, natural resources, energy, transport, circular economy and environmental policy.

This role is based in our Melbourne (Camberwell) office, and analysts will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced consultants and senior leaders based in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney across:

• economic, policy and quantitative analysis
• research and data analysis
• cost-benefit analysis and program evaluation
• policy reviews and business cases
• economic regulation, pricing and market analysis
• the development of reports, proposals and presentations.

The initial contract is for three months, with an opportunity to extend for the right candidate. Office-based, this role is designed to be flexible, with working arrangements designed to accommodate study commitments.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for applicants who are:

• Currently undertaking Economics Honours or Master’s degree, or are recent graduates.
• Based in Melbourne and able to work with our Melbourne team.
• Curious, analytical and keen to apply their skills to real-world challenges.
• Confident working with quantitative analysis and microeconomic concepts.
• Clear communicators who enjoy working collaboratively and solving complex problems.
• Motivated to learn, contribute and develop their consulting skills.
• Interested in the application of economics across sectors and issues.
