Role Description The Government Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for driving sales and managing relationships within government and public sector accounts. This role involves identifying new government business opportunities, preparing and presenting proposals, and managing end-to-end sales processes from lead generation to closure. The Government Sales Manager will engage with key stakeholders in government agencies, understand their fitness and wellness requirements, and align Grand Slam Fitness solutions to meet those needs.
Daily activities include maintaining accurate sales forecasts, coordinating with internal teams for pricing and delivery, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and contract compliance. The role also includes regular reporting on sales performance and contributing to strategic business planning for the government segment.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Sales and Sales Processes, with the ability to manage complete sales cycles for government and institutional clients.
- Experience in Account Management and Customer Satisfaction, including relationship-building, retention, and service coordination.
- Skills in Business Planning, with capability to develop segment-specific strategies, sales plans, and revenue forecasts.
- Prior experience in government or B2B sales, preferably in fitness equipment, sports, wellness, or related industries.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, with comfort engaging senior officials and decision-makers.
- Travel extensively as needed for meetings and tenders, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Familiarity with government tender procedures, procurement processes, and contract management is highly beneficial.
