Senior Project Director

Project Director - Mining & Metals - EPCM - Greater Toronto

Are you a Senior Project Director with EPC/EPCM experience in the mining industry? Have you been responsible for overseeing the engineering handover to construction? Do you have experience in cold weather environments?

CSG Talent is partnering with a leading international engineering and project delivery organisation to recruit an experienced Project Director for a major mining EPCM project in Ontario, Canada. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished project professional who has successfully delivered large, complex mining projects through the execution phase. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and assume overall responsibility for the project's technical, commercial, financial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Leading large cross‑functional internal and external project teams and potentially subcontractors or other PMs.
• Overseeing, motivating, and monitoring the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.
• Creating strong collaborative team environment by establishing common vision, setting clear expectations and accountability
• Demonstrating capability of overseeing large‑scale projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project (planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions).
• Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.
• Interprets and understands all of the key elements of the project schedule to identify adverse trends and take correction action.
• Applies forward planning with schedule to resource the project appropriately.

Experience required

• Senior level project experience with a mining EPC/EPCM.
• Cold weather experience.
• Hands on experience of personally being responsible for overseeing the engineering handover.
