Humans of HR is working with an established organization that is undergoing a significant accounting and systems transformation and is looking for an experienced accounting professional to help lead the team through this next phase.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to step into management or an Accounting Manager looking for a new challenge.

The organization is investing heavily in technology, automation and AI-enabled processes to modernize its accounting operations and reduce manual workflows. This role will be an important part of helping the accounting team adapt to those changes.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and support a team of approximately 4–6 accounting professionals
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Take ownership of month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure books are properly closed and reconciled across multiple entities
• Review accounting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation
• Support the implementation of new accounting systems, technology and AI-enabled processes
• Help lead the accounting team through significant process and systems changes
• Coach, mentor and develop junior and intermediate accounting staff
• Provide guidance and support to team members as they adapt to new processes and technologies
• Work closely with senior leadership on accounting priorities and process improvements
• Help establish stronger, more consistent accounting procedures and controls
• Take an active role in improving workflows and reducing manual administrative work

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end close
• Experience working across multiple entities is highly valued
• Strong technical accounting and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience mentoring or leading accounting professionals
• Experience as a Senior Accountant looking to take the next step into management, or previous Accounting Manager experience
• Comfortable working through change and implementing new processes
• Strong technology skills and an interest in automation, AI and modern accounting systems
• Someone who is curious, adaptable and excited by transformation rather than resistant to it
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
