Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a leading Irish software organisation for a Software Developer / SysAdmin on a permanent basis.

The role: Modern SaaS product development on one side, cloud infrastructure ownership on the other. You'll work across customer-facing technical projects inside an agile engineering team, and you'll be the person who knows both why the code does what it does and why the environment is behaving the way it is.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Designing, building and maintaining cloud-hosted SaaS applications in C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Azure
• Deploying, managing, monitoring and optimising applications and infrastructure across Azure environments
• Administering Microsoft 365 — SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, user access and security policies
• Working directly with technical teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver customer solutions
• Keeping production healthy — system monitoring, incident response, backup and disaster recovery, environment maintenance

What we need:

• Strong development experience in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core and SQL Server / MS SQL
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure — Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL, Azure AD / Entra ID, cloud deployments and infrastructure support
• Modern web application experience with Blazor and/or Razor Pages
• Working knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and Azure AD administration
• Real experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting live technical issues

Nice to have:

• Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipeline experience
• PowerShell or Bash scripting
• Cybersecurity or secure infrastructure experience
• Regulated industry background — insurance, fintech or enterprise software

The reality of the role: This is two disciplines in one job, and that's the point rather than an accident. If you want to write code all day and have someone else carry the pager, this isn't it. If you like knowing the whole stack — and being the person who can actually fix it at three in the afternoon when a customer environment falls over — it's a good one.
