Role Overview

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in project delivery. Working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, you will bring a proactive approach to keep projects moving forward. Utilising your engineering expertise, initiative and effective communication, you will drive the safe, timely and high standard delivery of our projects.

Building strong professional relationships and working collaboratively will be key to your success in this role.

What you'll do

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in planning, supervising and inspecting of temporary works, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Accurately interpreting construction drawings and specifications and taking ownership in the implementation of Engineering Controls.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, monitoring and recording health and safety activities as required.
  • Contribute to preparation and organisation of the programme for work, including resource allocation, permits, risk assessments and method statements
  • Management and implementation of Quality procedures
  • Liaise with clients, internal departments, subcontractors and other key stakeholders to ensure the project develops in line with plans and timeframes, with no compromise in quality and delivery
  • Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring written and verbal communication or instructions are clear and understood.

What you'll bring

As Senior Engineer your main skills and experience must include:

  • Third level qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience working on construction projects.
  • CSR/CSCS Qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Effective at problem solving and implementing resolutionsand ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to successfully implement, maintain and ensure compliance of Health & Safety legislation
  • Full understanding of implementing Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
  • Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies
  • Competent in Information Technology and in particular, relevant construction related software including AutoCAD
  • Full valid driving licence, that permits driving in the UK/Ireland

It would also be desirable to be:

  • Experienced with supervising/mentoring engineering teams
  • Qualified First Aider
  • Qualified Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Qualified Appointed Person
