Job Description

St. Paul's School, Barcelona, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teacher (I3 / I4) to join our Early Years team on a full-time, permanent basis, starting on 1 September 2026.


About the role

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for an I3 or I4 class, leading the learning, development and wellbeing of our youngest students in a dynamic, nurturing and international environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, delivering and assessing a stimulating, play-based curriculum appropriate to the Early Years stage.
  • Acting as class tutor, monitoring the academic and personal development of each student.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with families and maintaining regular communication with them.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support all learners.
  • Collaborating effectively within the Early Years team on curriculum planning and school events.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about early childhood education and the development of young children.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with children and with families.
  • Is proactive, organised and able to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrates a caring, positive and professional attitude.


Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker preferred. Alternatively, an excellent command of English (C2 level or equivalent).
  • A teaching qualification in Early Years or Primary Education, officially recognised or homologated in Spain — or currently in the process of homologation or recognition.
  • Previous experience teaching in an Early Years setting will be highly valued.
  • Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Additional Learning Needs will be valued.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Legal authorisation to work in Spain.


What We Offer

  • Permanent full-time contract.
  • Gross annual salary of €39,900, including the tutor role.
  • Working hours from 8:45 to 16:45, with one hour for lunch and thirty minutes for breakfast.
  • Approximately 22 contact hours per week with students.
