Livestock Truck Driver, DRILLHAM QLD

Looking for an experienced cattle truck driver who's comfortable with overnights and long runs from southern QLD into NSW.

• Work with a well-maintained Kenworth T659 and consistent long-haul cattle runs across QLD and NSW.
• Role involves livestock transport, occasional grain/fertiliser carting, and some basic truck upkeep.
• Above-award wages, negotiable roster, and depot facilities available in Drillham.

Our client is a family-owned beef and cropping enterprise based in Drillham, QLD, operating livestock and commodity transport across southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. The business manages its own fleet maintenance at its Queensland base and operates a practical, hands-on approach to day-to-day operations. This role reports directly to the owners and would suit a driver who is comfortable working independently on long-haul routes and managing overnight runs. The position is available to start as soon as the right candidate is identified.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Complete long-haul livestock transport from farms and saleyards across southern QLD into NSW, including deliveries to feedlots and abattoirs.
• Operate and care for a Kenworth T659, including basic on-road tyre management and assisting with minor maintenance when required.
• Undertake overnight runs, safely managing fatigue and schedules while living out of the truck when required.
• Assist with occasional tipper work, including grain and fertiliser carting during quieter livestock periods or seasonal harvest times.

Selection Criteria:

• Current MC Licence with a minimum of a couple of years' livestock transport experience.
• Demonstrated safe driving history with strong time management and communication skills.
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of livestock loading and long-haul driving.
• Able to work independently and suited to extended periods on the road, including overnight stays in the truck.

Additional Particulars:

• Accommodation available at the Drillham depot, including shower and toilet facilities.
• Overnight stays in truck with 50-inch bunk, fridge, inverter, and cooling system.
• Roster to be negotiated with employer.
• Prefer a single applicant due to accommodation setup.
• No accommodation or employment available for partners.
• Wages based on experience, with above-award rates offered.
