The Role
As Director, Technology & Operations Business Management, you will lead strategic financial and business planning initiatives that support Technology & Operations (T&O), with a focus on operational excellence, cost discipline and effective resource allocation. You will partner with Group Heads and senior leaders to shape the department’s three-year financial plan and forecasts, oversee enterprise-level planning for Market Data and Cloud, identify cost optimization opportunities, support strategic prioritization, and workforce planning. You will also lead and develop a high-performing team while providing insights and recommendations that support executive decision-making.
The Team
Technology & Operations supports CPP Investments by enabling the technology, data and operational capabilities required to execute the organization’s strategy efficiently and effectively. CPP Investments continues to prioritize productivity through process streamlining and automation, fit-for-purpose organizational design and effective allocation of resources. The Strategy & Operating Office within T&O plays a pivotal role in the financial and workforce management of the department.
The team is accountable for the planning, execution and oversight of financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reviews and cost optimization.
Accountabilities
Lead the development of T&O’s three-year financial plan and forecasts, including oversight of the enterprise-level financial plans for Market Data and Cloud. Partner with Group Heads and senior leaders to align financial planning, business strategies and resource allocation with strategic priorities and operational needs. Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating findings into clear insights and recommendations for executive decision-making.
Strengthen cost discipline by identifying key cost drivers and leading demand, supply and other reviews to identify and implement cost optimization opportunities. Establish and monitor KPIs and business performance measures, providing clear reporting, presentations and strategic recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders. Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team while fostering accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and professional growth.
What You Bring
University degree in a relevant field. 8+ years of relevant experience, including experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives and complex timelines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience working with diverse data sets, conducting sophisticated analysis and translating findings into actionable recommendations. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to partner across functions and synthesize information and perspectives from a diverse range of stakeholders. High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to inclusively lead, inspire and develop a diverse team of professionals.
You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment. We provide colleagues with cutting‑edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.
