Punto Health is an award-winning digital health startup on a mission to transform cognitive and senior care.
Founded by engineers Anna Muñoz Farré and Jack Eckersley, we are building an AI-powered platform that helps detect cognitive change earlier, personalise care and provide continuous support to patients, families and healthcare professionals.
Our products include:
- PuntoTest, a speech-based digital biomarker for the early detection and monitoring of cognitive change.
- PuntoCare, an AI-powered platform that supports patients, carers and clinicians through personalised guidance, cognitive health activities and continuous insights.
Our products are co-designed with clinicians, patients and families. We work closely with leading healthcare and research organisations across Spain and the UK, including NHS services and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Following our recent seed round, we are expanding our team and scaling our technology across the UK and Spain.

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to become our first dedicated AI and Data hire in Barcelona.
You will help establish and grow our Barcelona AI and Data team while working closely with our existing engineering and AI team in London.
This is a senior, hands-on role spanning applied machine learning, clinical research and production engineering. You will work across PuntoTest and PuntoCare, developing models and AI systems using speech, clinical and longitudinal behavioural data.
You will own work across the full ML lifecycle, from data exploration and experimental design to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. You will also help define the technical practices and foundations of the Barcelona team as it grows.
- Develop, validate and deploy speech models for PuntoTest, our digital biomarker for detecting and monitoring cognitive change.
- Work with the growing longitudinal cognitive health dataset generated through PuntoCare, combining clinical, behavioural and engagement data.
- Build reliable and reproducible pipelines for model training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
- Develop and evaluate LLM-powered features for patients, carers and clinicians.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and clinical teams across Barcelona and London to turn research into deployed products.
- Contribute to clinical studies and scientific publications, with opportunities to co-author future conference and journal papers.
- Strong applied machine learning and statistical foundations, with experience taking models from experimentation into production (not just offline analysis).
- Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python, Git, ML frameworks and cloud infrastructure such as GCP.
- Experience building LLM applications, RAG systems or AI agents.
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English. Catalan is a strong plus.
- A plus: Experience in healthcare AI, regulated products, clinical research or scientific publishing.
- Become the first dedicated AI and Data hire in Barcelona and help shape the team as it grows.
- Join a growing international team across Barcelona and London.
- Work across speech biomarkers, longitudinal cognitive health data and patient-facing AI systems.
- Collaborate directly with hospitals, clinicians and researchers.
- Contribute to scientific publications and have opportunities to co-author conference and journal papers.
- Build technology with a meaningful impact on cognitive and senior care.
