Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in credit portfolio management, wholesale credit risk, IFRS 9/ECL or portfolio analytics who is looking to take on broader portfolio responsibility within an international banking environment.


I'm currently working with an established international bank in London that is looking to appoint a Senior Credit Portfolio Officer to join its Credit Management Department. This is a senior-level position covering credit portfolio monitoring, asset quality management, stress testing, IFRS 9/ECL, NPL management and credit risk reporting, with regular exposure to senior management, Head Office, auditors and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Portfolio Management

· Monitor and analyse the Bank's credit portfolio, including NPL ratios, concentration risk, country risk and sector exposure.

· Identify emerging credit risks, portfolio trends and early warning indicators, and support appropriate risk mitigation actions.

· Monitor portfolio performance and asset quality in line with the Bank's risk appetite.


IFRS 9, ECL & Stress Testing

· Support credit loss estimation and provisioning under IFRS 9 / ECL.

· Work with key credit risk parameters including PD, LGD and EAD.

· Conduct portfolio stress testing, economic scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.


Asset Quality & NPL Management

· Support the monitoring and management of NPLs and vulnerable credit exposures.

· Conduct NPL reviews and assist with the debt write-off process, ensuring internal policies and procedures are followed.


Reporting & Governance

· Prepare credit portfolio reports and MI for senior management, Head Office and relevant committees.

· Support regulatory and audit requirements and liaise with internal/external auditors and other stakeholders.

· Assist with credit risk policies, procedures and wider Credit Management projects.


Requirements

· Minimum 5–7 years' experience in Credit Risk Portfolio Management, Credit Portfolio Analytics or a related credit risk role within commercial, corporate or investment banking.

· Strong experience with wholesale, corporate or complex credit portfolios.

· Good technical knowledge of IFRS 9, ECL, PD, LGD and EAD.

· Experience in portfolio monitoring, stress testing, credit risk analysis and reporting.

· Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with advanced Excel; Power BI or SQL would be beneficial.

· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Fluent English and Mandarin are essential.
