MUFG Global Services:

Established in 2019, MUFG Global Services (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG Bank Ltd having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. With a current headcount of around 250, MGS has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

Job Profile:

Purpose of Role:

The AVP APAC Data Governance reports to the Director, Data Governance & Controls. Provide subject matter expertise and support on Data Quality Monitoring, data governance, and banking data-related matters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support on Data Quality Monitoring, data governance, and banking data-related matters.
  • Review and support functional and technical documentation, including Data Dictionary, Key Data Elements, data lineage, and DQM business rules.
  • Perform data analysis, investigation, reporting, and issue resolution for DQM errors, incidents, deficiencies, and stakeholder queries.
  • Identify, manage, escalate, and communicate data quality issues with local, regional, and global stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Gather and clarify business and user requirements, and translate them into practical DQM, reporting, or data-related solutions.
  • Design, build, or enhance DQM components and analytics outputs using approved tools such as Alteryx, Python/R, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
  • Apply data warehouse, structured data, AI, and analytics knowledge to support data quality analysis, insight generation, automation, and process improvement.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly metrics, dashboards, management reports, and other data quality updates as required.
  • Support ad-hoc data-related tasks, change initiatives, and continuous improvement activities as required.

Candidate Profile:

Skills and knowledge:

  • Good understanding of Data Quality Monitoring and data governance concepts, including Data Dictionary, Key Data Elements, data lineage, data quality rules, and business rules.
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse concepts, structured data, AI, and analytics tools, including Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, prompt writing, and AI-powered insight generation.
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to investigate data issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with local, regional, and global teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage assigned tasks effectively, and support multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work across time zones and support ad-hoc data-related tasks or initiatives when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Education & professional qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or above

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in data governance, data quality management, compliance, financial crime, banking operations, or banking data-related roles.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, investigation, reporting, dashboarding, or issue resolution using tools such as Alteryx, Python/R, Tableau, or equivalent analytics tools.
