Job Description
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This role will support core general ledger, reporting, and tax-related activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, tax and statutory reporting, and audit support within a professional, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and follow up on variances
- Support profit & loss analysis and reporting for management
- Assist with VAT, corporate tax, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Provide information and support for statutory and external audits
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams including tax, treasury, legal, and shared services
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Support other general accounting and reporting tasks as required
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a multinational or structured environment
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
- Experience using an ERP system/s
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
Qualifications
- Degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Part-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is desirable
