Job Description

Field Service Technician โ€” Solar PV & Wind

Location: Ireland (Multi-Site | Full-Time | Site-Based) Salary: โ‚ฌ40,000 โ€“ โ‚ฌ51,000 base Sector: Renewable Energy | Solar PV | Wind

Ireland's renewable energy sector is growing fast โ€” and we're looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to grow with it.

This is a site-based O&M role covering solar PV and wind assets across Ireland. You'll be the person on the ground keeping renewable energy sites running at full capacity โ€” diagnosing faults, carrying out maintenance, supporting commissioning, and making sure production never stays down longer than it has to.

If you're an electrically qualified technician with at least a year of solar or wind site experience, comfortable behind the wheel on rural roads and working independently across multiple sites, this is a strong opportunity to build a long-term career in one of Ireland's fastest growing sectors.

What the role involves,

  • Fast on-site and remote fault diagnosis and troubleshooting โ€” getting production back up quickly
  • Planned and reactive maintenance across solar PV and wind sites
  • Supporting commissioning and start-up activities on new sites
  • On-site technical assessments and inspections
  • SCADA monitoring and remote control system operation
  • Technical report writing to support performance and claims processes
  • Contributing to maintenance process improvement and reliability analysis
  • Sharing best practices across the operations team

What you'll need,

  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience on a solar PV or wind energy site โ€” this is essential
  • Trade qualification or degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering
  • Full clean Irish or EU driving licence โ€” essential, you'll cover sites across Ireland
  • Experience with fault detection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical/automation equipment
  • Familiarity with SCADA or remote monitoring systems (desirable)
  • Valid Safe Pass
  • Comfortable working outdoors on active sites in all conditions
  • Strong written English for technical reporting

What's on offer,

  • Base salary โ‚ฌ40,000 โ€“ โ‚ฌ51,000 depending on experience
  • Call-out allowance on top of base salary
  • Work across a growing portfolio of renewable energy sites in Ireland
  • Real career progression โ€” this sector is expanding rapidly and we promote from within
  • Be part of Ireland's energy transition at a hands-on level from day one

Who we're looking for,

You don't need to have done every part of this role before โ€” but you do need to have been on site, worked with your hands, and know what it means to keep a live energy asset running. The right person is someone who takes ownership, doesn't wait to be told, and is comfortable driving to a remote Galway or Kerry site at short notice to sort a problem out.

If that sounds like you, get in touch.
