Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote) 3-4 onsite meetings per month

Duration: 12+ Months (with possible extension)

Pay Rate: CAD $80 -$110 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Talend Integration Analyst with expertise in enterprise data integration, ETL/ELT development, SQL, and production support. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting data integration solutions using the Government of Alberta's Talend Integration Platform. This role combines hands‑on development with operational support responsibilities and requires close collaboration with data engineers, platform administrators, business stakeholders, and vendor support teams.

This position will primarily support the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) and may expand to support additional enterprise data initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Mandatory Experience

Talend Development

• Minimum 3 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using Talend Studio.
• Experience developing:
  • ETL/ELT processes
  • Data transformations
  • Orchestration workflows
  • Error handling mechanisms
  • Production‑ready integration components

Talend Administration & Operations

• Minimum 3 years of experience with:
  • Talend Management Console (TMC) and/or Talend Administration Center (TAC)
  • Job deployment
  • Environment management
  • Scheduling
  • Monitoring
  • Release promotion

Talend Infrastructure Support

• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting:
  • Talend Remote Engines
  • Talend Job Servers
  • Runtime infrastructure
  • Performance tuning
  • Security configuration
  • Connectivity troubleshooting

Production Support

• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting enterprise integration platforms in production environments.
• Experience with:
  • Incident management
  • Root cause analysis
  • Deployment validation
  • Integration failure resolution
  • Performance optimization

SDLC & DevOps

• Minimum 4 years of experience working within a mature SDLC environment.
• Experience with:
  • Git-based source control
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Code reviews
  • Release management
  • Testing and QA processes
  • Documentation and governance

AI Adoption

• Minimum 1 year of experience leveraging AI tools for:
  • Code generation
  • Data analysis
  • Workflow automation
  • Productivity enhancement

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL development skills.
• Experience working with relational databases such as:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
• Experience designing enterprise data integration and transformation solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience performing business requirements analysis related to:
  • Data transformation
  • Data cleansing
  • Data wrangling
• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server including:
  • Database design
  • Performance tuning
  • Administration
• 2+ years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines and cloud integrations using Talend technologies.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing secure RESTful APIs.
• 3+ years of experience with messaging technologies including:
  • ActiveMQ
  • Azure Service Bus
  • Enterprise message queues
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with Azure-based Data Management Platforms.
