We are seeking an Pricing Analyst to join the Trading Team. Role Purpose: We are currently recruiting for a pricing strategy support analyst to work cross functionally between sales and trading.
With oversight from the Price Strategy Manager, the successful candidate will effectively provide insight and recommendations pricing across the wholesale division of the Musgrave business. The KPIs are therefore based on margin protection and improvements while ensuring the business value proposition is delivered upon. As well as this, the role would focus on driving the future of our pricing strategy and model, supporting the pricing strategy manager in driving efficiency and technology into our ways of working both from a future pricing system solution and reporting perspective.

What youll be doing: The key responsibilities of the role are (not limited to): Weekly reporting of pricing versus competitors through price index reads, layering with insight outlining market movements Price Index Trends: Ensuring we maintain position or improve where needed Maintain pricing hierarchy in line with price strategy Inflation tracking and reporting to ensure we pass on price increases in line with the market and call out margin opportunities at product level Support sales and trading with pricing intel, provide recommendations at contract or category level Support the Price Strategy Manager with Central Pricing Strategy to continuously streamline processes that support internal team and margin Tracking of new pricing initiatives to understand the benefits or erosions caused by implemented actions at product or category level Work with sales managers and the wider business development team on contract margin drive plans through key line improvements and individual contract deep dives Manage the pricing platform, ensuring any errors are corrected, matches are up to date and the right level of detail is appearing on reports. Continuously look for ways to improve reporting and use of data compiled.
Present to management team weekly on price indexing, calling out threats and opportunities to action Value: Provide insight and recommendations to drive value message through competitive and informed pricing Build strong relationships with colleagues and Trading Managers to understand daily challenges. Work effectively with business counterparts to conceive, specify, pilot and implement analytical applications and tool Develop an automated Power BI pricing dashboard covering price index, CPI, margin, match rates and key customer performance. Develop a forecasting model that identifies expected competitor price movements, inflation risks and margin opportunities at product or category level.
Create a pricing-action tracker that records recommendations, owners, implementation status and realised financial impact and improve the conversion of pricing analysis into agreed commercial actions. Automate repetitive pricing-reporting processes and measure the efficiency benefit achieved. Implement formal controls for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of pricing data.
What were looking for: Education and Experience: Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular, excel (intermediate to advanced ability to use pivots, x/vlookups, graphs, calculations i.e. sum, sumifs, countifs, etc) Excellent in analysing large and varied datasets Excellent data visualization (Power BI or Tableau) Experience of predictive analytics and forecasting techniques Strong communication and presentation skills Insights ability to derive insight from data and explain to various colleagues Strong attention to detail and likes to work cross functionally Time management Financial analysis and interpretation experience Excellent analytical mindset and highly numeric Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines A self-motivated approach to work - can do attitude Third level qualification in analytics related subject or related experience preferable Ability to work as part of a team as well on own initiative/autonomously Why Musgrave?
