About the Role

Are you practical, mechanically minded and ready to build a career in an essential industry? Join our Rydalmere workshop team as aWorkshop Technicianand help protect people and property by maintaining critical fire safety equipment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality work and is keen to learn. Previous fire protection experience is welcome but not essential - we’re looking for the right attitude, reliability and willingness to develop.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Working as part of a supportive workshop team, you will:
  • Test, service and refurbish portable fire extinguishers
  • Test and refurbish lay-flat fire hoses
  • Complete accurate testing and service records
  • Work to Australian Standards, safety procedures and quality requirements
  • Assist with workshop stock management and general warehouse duties when required
  • Support the wider workshop, warehouse and technical teams to meet customer orders
  • Participate in training, team initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain a safe, organised and professional work environment

About You

You don’t need extensive industry experience to succeed in this role. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Mechanically minded with a practical, hands‑on approach
  • Eager to learn and develop technical skills
  • Reliable, punctual and able to take pride in delivering high‑quality work
  • Safety‑focused and committed to following procedures
  • A strong team player with a positive, can‑do attitude
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working independently once trained
  • A confident communicator with good written and verbal skills

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • A current driver’s licence — mandatory
  • Basic mechanical and/or IT aptitude
  • A willingness to complete required training and work in line with Australian Standards
  • Previous experience in warehousing, trade assistance, mechanical work or fire protection will be highly regarded, but is not essential
  • A current forklift licence is desirable, but not essential
