About Us

Our client is a leading global shipping company providinginternational and domestic transportation services.

They are seeking a Customer Service Coordinator to jointheir Melbourne-based operations team. The successful candidate will supportthe importation and onward domestic transportation of vehicles whilecoordinating with automotive companies, transport providers, port serviceproviders and other stakeholders.

This is a part-time position working three days per week.Hybrid working arrangements may be available once the successful candidate hassettled into the role.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities and duties of the role include:

  • Managepre-arrival import formalities, including customs and port submissions andrequired system updates
  • Reviewand update bills of lading, freight details and applicable charges
  • Preparearrival notices, cargo release documents and other import paperwork inline with payment and credit requirements
  • ArrangeUnder Bond and Coastal documentation when required
  • Coordinatethe onward transportation of imported vehicles within Australia
  • Liaisewith OEM automotive customers, transport providers, port service providersand internal teams
  • Coordinatevehicle loading and unloading arrangements with relevant service providers
  • Prepareand manage invoices relating to freight, domestic transportation and cargohandling charges
  • Arrangeand process payments to transport and stevedoring service providers
  • Compilecargo information for payment, cost-recovery and reporting purposes
  • Maintainaccurate customer, operational and financial records
  • Monitorshipments and follow up on missing information or outstandingdocumentation
  • Assistwith general customer service, administrative and operational duties
  • Performother ad hoc duties as required by the business

Your Profile

This opportunity may suit someone with customer service,administration, coordination or logistics experience who is comfortable workingwith detailed information and established procedures.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of thefollowing skills and experience:

  • Previousexperience in shipping, logistics, operations or administration will behighly regarded but is not essential
  • Clearand professional communication skills
  • Strongorganisational and time-management abilities
  • Highattention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidenceworking with invoices, charges and operational documentation
  • Abilityto manage multiple requests, priorities and deadlines
  • Aproactive and reliable approach to work
  • Practicalproblem-solving skills
  • Abilityto work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Confidenceusing systems and learning new processes
  • Availabilityto commence at short notice will be highly regarded
