Job Title: Warehouse Assistant & Delivery Driver

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

About the Role

Derwent Industries is seeking a reliable, motivated and safety-focused Warehouse Assistant / Delivery Driver to join our team in Eastern Creek. This hands-on role involves supporting day-to-day warehouse operations and completing customer deliveries safely, efficiently and professionally. The successful applicant must hold a valid MR licence and be confident operating a truck-mounted crane.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Duties

  • Receive, unload and inspect incoming stock and deliveries.
  • Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts where required.
  • Label, store and handle products correctly.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Delivery Driver Duties

  • Drive an MR truck safely and confidently, including in busy traffic and customer delivery areas.
  • Deliver goods to customers and clients safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, including safe operation of a truck-mounted crane where required.
  • Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Complete basic vehicle checks and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous warehouse and/or delivery driving experience is preferred.
  • Current MR driver’s licence is essential.
  • Ability to operate a truck-mounted crane safely and competently is essential.
  • Forklift licence is highly regarded.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle heavy items.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid MR driver’s licence.
  • Must be able to safely operate a crane mounted on the truck.
  • Physically fit and capable of completing manual handling tasks.
  • Sound knowledge of warehouse safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills are an advantage.
