Bookkeeper / Accountant

Gram Engineering is excited to offer a full-time position at its head office for a friendly, organised and hard-working team member to fill the role of management and tax accountant for a wholesale and retail steel fabrication business and its associated entities (including trusts and a SMSF). Our location has on-site parking and is conveniently placed within a short walk to the T-Way.

We are a family run and owned business with our head office based in Smithfield with the business operating nation-wide.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skill set:

Skills Required

• Excellent computer skills with experience in a variety of accounting software packages and excel
• Methodical and thorough approach
• Ability to manage and report to deadlines

Desirable Skills / Qualifications

• Tertiary accounting qualification with a minimum of 10+ years work experience in the field of accounting
• Competency with the general ledger, journal entries and reconciliations
• Experience with GST and BAS preparation, FBT and TPAR
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Tasks will include

• Payroll and associated tasks for 40+ staff
• Debtor and creditor management
• Reconciliations and payments
• Balance sheet, Profit & Loss and month end processes
• Producing monthly management reports
• Timely provision of information to external accountant / Tax Agent
• Filing and managing various archiving processes
• Ad hoc project work
• General administrative support to the Managing Director.

MYOB EXO experience is an advantage

Salary is negotiable depending on relevant experience and qualifications. Office hours are usually 7am – 4.30pm, with some variation and reduction.
