LABOURLENS PTY LTD Labourlens is recruiting on behalf of The Trustee for Famy Trust trading as The Richmond Dentist is seeking a skilled Dental Technician to join its Richmond practice on a permanent full-time basis, working a minimum of 38 hours per week.

The position will support the practice’s general, cosmetic, implant and orthodontic dental services through the construction, finishing, maintenance and repair of customised dental restorations and appliances.

The successful candidate will interpret dental prescriptions, impressions and digital records; prepare models and casts; fabricate full and partial dentures; and construct crowns, bridges, inlays, mouthguards, retainers, splints and other prescribed dental appliances. The role also involves repairing, relining and modifying dentures, conducting quality checks, liaising with dentists regarding specifications and adjustments, maintaining laboratory records, and keeping laboratory equipment and work areas clean and operational.

Applicants should have relevant qualifications and experience in dental technology, strong technical accuracy and the ability to produce high-quality dental appliances in accordance with dentists’ prescriptions. Australian citizens and permanent residents will be preferred.

Task & Responsibilities

• Interpret dentists’ prescriptions, dental impressions and digital records to determine the design and technical requirements of customised dental restorations and appliances.
• Prepare accurate dental models and working casts for the construction of dentures, crowns, bridges, mouthguards and other prescribed dental aids.
• Design and fabricate full and partial dentures to meet the required measurements, bite relationships, appearance and functional specifications.
• Construct crowns, bridges, inlays, metal clasps and implant-supported restorations for the practice’s general, cosmetic and implant dentistry treatments.
• Manufacture customised mouthguards, retainers, splints and other prescribed dental appliances using suitable laboratory techniques and materials.
• Shape, shade-match, contour, polish and finish dentures and restorations to achieve an accurate fit and natural appearance.
• Examine completed dentures and dental appliances for dimensions, occlusion, surface finish, strength and compliance with the dentist’s prescription.
• Repair damaged, fractured or worn dentures and other dental appliances, restoring their function and structural integrity.
• Reline, rebase and modify existing denture bases in accordance with updated impressions and instructions supplied by the treating dentist.
• Liaise with dentists regarding appliance specifications, technical concerns, required adjustments and remakes to ensure each item meets the intended treatment requirements.
• Maintain records of dental prescriptions, materials, fabrication stages, repairs and completed appliances to support case accuracy and traceability.
• Clean and maintain dental laboratory equipment, instruments and work areas used in the construction and repair of dentures and dental appliances.

Qualification & Experience

• An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Dental Technology or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience to substitute the formal qualification.
• At least three years of relevant dental technology experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Demonstrated experience fabricating full and partial dentures, crowns, bridges, mouthguards and other dental appliances.
• Experience repairing, relining, rebasing and modifying dentures and related appliances.
• Ability to interpret dental prescriptions, impressions, models and digital records accurately.
• Sound knowledge of dental laboratory materials, instruments, and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy and quality-control skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with dentists and other dental team members.
• Registration or licensing must be held where required.
