Piccadilly Market - Lincoln Parkย is seeking a friendly, dependable, and hard-working Market Team Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in creating a welcoming and organized space, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people through food, beverage, and hospitality.
As a key part of the guest experience, you'll do everything from stocking shelves and receiving deliveries to helping customers discover the perfect bottle of wine or their next favorite market find. Our offerings include an exceptional coffee program, chef-prepared foods, fine wines and beverages, fresh bread, artisan chocolates, flowers, specialty cheeses, and more. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Hospitality
- Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to every guest
- Assist customers with product recommendations, questions, and purchases
- Create a welcoming environment where both regulars and first-time visitors feel at home
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
- Menu knowledge of our prepared food, coffee, and bar menus as well as some knowledge and willingness to learn about wine.
Stocking & Inventory
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming deliveries
- Stock and merchandise products throughout the store
- Rotate inventory and monitor product freshness and quality
- Maintain clean and orderly storage and back-of-house areas
- Lift and move boxes and product cases weighing up to 50 lbs
Store Operations
- Operate the register and accurately process cash and credit card transactions
- Assist with inventory counts, receiving, and basic record keeping
- Support daily opening and closing procedures
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of previous retail, grocery, hospitality, or customer service experience
- Food Safety & Illinois BASSET certification (or ability to obtain before employment)
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs throughout a shift
- Comfortable with physical, on-your-feet work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Basic math proficiency
- Working knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, with enthusiasm for continued learning and product education
Availability
- Scheduled 3โ5 shifts per week
- Must be available to work at least two weekend days (Friday-Sunday), two weekday shifts (Monday-Thursday), and most holidays (including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, and New Years Day)
