BrisbaneFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

Helios Advisory

Helios Advisory is a modern, boutique restructuring, insolvency and advisory firm. We provide practical, commercially grounded guidance to businesses, directors, creditors and individuals facing financial distress across both corporate and personal insolvency.

We are building a firm where capable people are trusted with genuine responsibility, supported by accessible leaders and recognised for the value they create. Our culture is professional, collaborative and people‑first, with a strong focus on quality, commercial thinking and sustainable careers.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Supervisor or Manager who is ready to take greater ownership of engagements and play an active role in developing our team. The position can be shaped to suit a strong Supervisor stepping toward Manager or an established Manager looking for broader exposure, autonomy and direct access to firm leadership enabling them to progress their career.

You will manage a varied portfolio of corporate, personal insolvency and advisory engagements, lead day‑to‑day delivery and act as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders. You will also supervise junior professionals, contribute to workflow and process improvements, and support the continued growth of Helios Advisory.

What you will do
  • Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of corporate, personal insolvency and advisory engagements, including liquidations, voluntary administrations, bankruptcies and advisory assignments.
  • Plan engagements, allocate work and monitor statutory deadlines, budgets, recoveries and key decision points.
  • Lead investigations, financial analysis, asset realisation strategies and recovery actions.
  • Prepare and review statutory reports, creditor communications, regulatory lodgements and court‑related documentation.
  • Liaise confidently with directors, creditors, employees, debtors, lawyers, accountants, regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex, sensitive or higher‑risk issues and ensure matters are properly documented and progressed.
  • Review the work of consultants and senior consultants, provide practical coaching and support their technical development.
  • Contribute to stronger systems, consistent file management, efficient workflows and continuous improvement across the firm.
  • Support client and referrer relationships, identify opportunities within existing engagements and participate in appropriate networking and business development activities.
What you will bring
  • Typically 4+ years of experience in corporate and/or personal insolvency, with the capability to manage files with increasing autonomy.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian insolvency legislation, practitioner obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance stakeholder outcomes, costs, risk and statutory duties.
  • Clear, accurate written communication and confidence managing difficult or sensitive stakeholder conversations.
  • Experience delegating, reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • CA, CPA or IPA qualification completed or well progressed; ARITA studies or qualification will be highly regarded.
  • A collaborative, accountable leadership style and a genuine interest in helping build a high‑quality boutique practice.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
Why join Helios
  • Broad exposure across corporate and personal insolvency & advisory rather than a narrow or highly siloed role.
  • Direct access to the Principal and a visible contribution to engagement strategy and firm decisions.
  • A genuine opportunity to progress based on capability, leadership and impact—not simply tenure.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a practical commitment to sustainable workloads and wellbeing.
  • Competitive remuneration, superannuation and a performance bonus, tailored to experience and level.
  • Study support, mentoring, professional development and regular team events.
  • A modern, agile environment where ideas for better systems, technology and service delivery are welcomed.

If you’re looking to grow your insolvency career in a firm where your contribution is visible, valued, and supported — we’d love to hear from you.
