The Role
We are seeking a Part-Time Undergraduate Accountant to join our Tax Advisory team while completing your accounting studies. Working closely with Directors, Managers and experienced Accountants, you will gain practical exposure to taxation, accounting, compliance and client advisory services within a professional services environment.
You will support client engagements through a combination of accounting, taxation, compliance and client administration responsibilities while developing your technical and professional capabilities..
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting student seeking real-world experience, professional mentoring and a pathway into a Graduate Accountant role upon completion of your degree.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of tax returns, BAS, financial statements and other compliance requirements.
Perform bookkeeping, reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare client documentation, engagement letters and other correspondence.
Liaise with clients to obtain information and assist with accounting and taxation enquiries.
Support ATO lodgements, invoicing, workflow management and client administration activities.
Maintain client records and ensure documents are accurately processed and filed.
Provide administrative support to Directors, Managers and Accountants across client engagements.
About You
Currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Confident written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to client interactions.
A willingness to learn and develop practical skills across accounting, taxation, compliance and client administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook); experience with Xero or other accounting software will be highly regarded.
A positive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in taxation, accounting and advisory services.
