Job Description
Scotts Group, Artarmon NSW is seeking an experienced 'Dealership Accountant' to join our team.
The primary purpose of your role is to provide support to the Financial Controller, manage end of month reporting, ledger reconciliations and financial oversight specific to automotive retail.
Day to day components of the role include:
- Month end reporting
- Manage accruals and prepayments.
- Ensure tax reporting and payment obligations are met.
- Manage the daily operations including accounting, invoicing, cash management and internal financial reporting.
- Analyse departmental results to provide feedback into business performance improvement.
- Liaise with the auditors and other regulatory bodies to ensure statutory compliance.
- Produce monthly management accounts.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Daily Bank Reconciliations.
- Fixed asset register maintenance.
- Managing the annual budget preparation and monthly forecasts.
- Conducting monthly expense review and analysis.
- Assist in preparation of BAS and other regulatory.
- Assist in preparation of FBT return.
- Year End Reporting requirements.
- Oversee and assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of 3 years Accountant experience.
- Ability to work on Pentana ERA -DMS
- Previous Motor Dealer experience is essential.
- CA or CPA qualification (or studying towards) highly advantageous.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills with MS Excel, Office, accounting software and databases.
- To be able to meet strict deadlines and to be able to multi-task.
- The ability to prioritize your workload.High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Well-versed in accounts/tax compliance, auditing procedure, finance system regulations in Australia.
- Strong analytical, business mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of financial reporting requirements and experience in preparing financial statements.
- Ability to work autonomously & efficiently, with high attention to details.
