Job Title: Methods EngineerJob Description

As a Methods Engineer, you will manage and execute complex work instructions in the ERP System, supporting various aircraft programs and developmental activities. You will assess the impacts of design and process changes on production aircraft assembly, sub-assemblies, and detailed parts, ensuring compliance with quality standards and engineering requirements. This role involves significant interaction with Production, Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other internal groups to solve technical problems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute complex engineering change notifications (ECNs) in the ERP System.
  • Create assembly workbooks to support aircraft programs.
  • Assess design and process changes and their impacts on production.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering requirements, and design specifications.
  • Support systems installation, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
  • Perform wire and cable routing.
  • Develop and implement Ground Test Procedures (GTP) and Flight Test Procedures (FTP).
  • Unlock work when parts are missing to maintain production flow.
  • Sequence work to keep production moving efficiently.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor.
  • Engage in problem-solving and readiness planning.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, quality, and procurement for effective planning.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment within the Aerospace industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with the fabrication and assembly of aircraft parts.
  • 4+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and methods readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of Aerospace engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and process design issues.
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting aircraft engineering drawings for assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IFS software.
  • Experience with hydraulic mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering intent independently.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Experience with Change Management and Project Management.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site at a manufacturing facility in Calgary, operating in a collaborative, team-based setting that supports aircraft assembly operations. The work environment includes interaction with cross-functional teams such as Production, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, but flexible shift schedules may be required to meet production needs.

You will work in a dynamic aerospace production environment, offering opportunities for growth and exposure to various aircraft manufacturing disciplines.

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $55.00/hr.
