Ready to lead the engineering organization behind the systems that keep the world's leading airlines running? As Head of Development & Support, you'll steer a multi-team org of developers, QA, and support through their managers – owning delivery, release governance, and the technical direction across our product portfolio. Key responsibilities
Lead, coach, and scale a multi-functional engineering organization of 30+ people (Dev, QA, Support) through direct management of engineering managers. Drive product and delivery governance across multiple products and clients, overseeing release management, change-control boards, RFC processes, and roadmap prioritization. Own architecture governance and technical strategy, leading Architecture Review Boards and driving major cross-cutting modernization programs (e.g., cloud migrations, stack upgrades). Ensure operational excellence, high availability, and security compliance across AWS/SaaS environments, maintaining strict SLA/incident management and secure SDLC standards (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2). Manage financial operations and team growth, including full engineering budget ownership, headcount planning, vendor spend, procurement approvals, and compensation/career-progression frameworks. Requirements We don't expect every candidate to be equally deep across all three areas - if this is broadly you, we'd love to talk.
Leadership & management
Excellent written and verbal English for client and vendor interactions; working Polish is strongly preferred for our bilingual team environment. 8–12+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years managing managers (~30+ people indirectly).
Proven management of people and managers: coaching, cascading goals, and holding managers accountable for team health and delivery. Budget ownership and financial management for engineering teams (headcount planning, vendor spend, procurement approval). Track record of establishing transparent compensation and career-progression frameworks. Product & delivery governance
Deep experience with release/change management at scale: change-control boards, definition-of-done, versioning policies, multi-product release planning. Experience running an RFC/requirements → delivery process across multiple customers and products. Comfort with product-portfolio governance (roadmaps, customer-to-team assignment, prioritization under shifting priorities). Technical breadth to lead credibly
Strong understanding of the modern SDLC: CI/CD, branching strategy, code review, automated testing, engineering metrics (e.g. DORA), and observability. Cloud-native / SaaS operations literacy (AWS): high-availability architecture, DR (RTO/RPO), SLA/incident management, and reliability engineering. Software security & compliance: secure SDLC, vulnerability management, security governance, and experience with a recognized framework (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2). Architectural governance: experience with architectural decision-making, running Architecture Review Boards, and leading cross-cutting modernization programs. Nice to have
Aviation domain knowledge (airline operations systems). Familiarity with AI/LLM tooling in engineering orgs (enough to sponsor). MBA or equivalent business exposure (pricing, contracts, vendor negotiation).
