The Routing and Planning (RaP) organization, within the Last Mile Technology (LMT) organization, plays a pivotal role in Amazon's mission to deliver packages to billions of customers worldwide. Our goal is to create the most efficient, reliable, and high-quality route plans for our drivers while ensuring safe, low-touch, and high-throughput solutions for operations. We’re challenged to constantly improve and innovate on our routing and planning software to support Amazon's promise of fast and reliable deliveries.
The technology that are developed by our teams include a wide breadth of solutions from Machine Learning (ML) and Operations Research-based routing and planning algorithms, in-house maps and navigation platform, IoT and hardware innovations, doorstep delivery experience, and the consumer grade native mobile apps that brings all these experiences together.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with exceptional technical skills and a passion for delivering great software to join our team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible to own and deliver highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in driving the technical and architectural vision for a planning team that touches every Amazon package, as well as all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping, design, implementation, testing & delivery of our product.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
