We're seeking a detailed‑oriented Financial Accountant who enjoys working across both financial and management accounting while partnering with the business to deliver accurate, timely insights.

About the Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will be part of the day-to-day finance function, maintain strong financial controls and work closely with our SLT to support strategic decision-making across the business.

This role offers variety and autonomy, combining financial operations, reporting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also play a key role in supporting our Construction and Minor Works divisions through detailed financial analysis and project reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger activities including month‑end accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reporting
  • Manage company cashflow forecasting and reporting
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Review weekly payroll and ensure compliance with relevant Awards
  • Deliver monthly management reporting, including monthly P&L review meetings with department managers
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, project profitability, and financial performance
  • Work closely with our offshore accounts assistant

The successful candidate will ideally bring:

  • Accurate and timely reporting to help drive informed business decisions across the organisation
  • Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role, with CA or CPA qualification preferred
  • Strong financial and management accounting capability
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and project-based reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A proactive and hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Payroll and Award interpretation experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
  • Experience within construction, trades, or project-based industries will be highly regarded
