Software Developer – ETL (Senior)

Contract: September 14, 2026 – March 31, 2027

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer – ETL to design, develop, maintain, and optimize complex data pipelines and data warehouse solutions. The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, advanced SQL, data modelling, and ETL/ELT development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, automate, and optimize complex ETL/ELT processes.
• Extract, transform, cleanse, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses and star/snowflake schemas.
• Develop complex PL/SQL procedures, packages, views, and scripts for data extraction and transformation.
• Create and maintain data assets from highly normalized Oracle databases and migrate data across different database platforms.
• Develop and manage Azure Data Factory pipelines and Azure SQL solutions.
• Perform query optimization, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data replication, and recovery activities.
• Support data migration and integration across multiple platforms and environments.
• Investigate ETL/data issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Develop technical documentation, specifications, and unit tests.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Provide production support, incident management, application troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data warehousing and ETL/ELT development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, T-SQL, and advanced SQL.
• Strong experience with Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory, including creating pipelines and copy activities.
• Experience with relational and dimensional data modelling, including star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience with Python and/or Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with data migration, data integration, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Elasticsearch for search/reporting and performance optimization.
• Experience using GitHub, JIRA, and/or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and software development methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting ETL processes, including performance, failover, recovery, and production support.

Additional Experience

• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), RMAN, and Oracle networking technologies.
• Experience developing and supporting complex, mission‑critical applications.
• Experience with technical analysis, system design, application integration, and technical documentation.
• Public sector or government project experience is an asset.
• Experience with environmental data/systems or government data integration is an asset.
