On behalf of our client, Royal London, AMS are looking for a Data Business Analyst for a 6 month contract based in London (hybrid model, 50% in office, 50% home based).
Job description - the role
Purpose of the role:
On behalf of our client, we are currently looking for a Data Business Analyst to join the Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) team in London.
The role will form part of the Client Group Squad/Regulatory workstream, delivering on strategic initiatives in partnership with Client Group, Regulatory, Data Management and Technology teams.
The ideal candidate will hold technical Business Analyst experience with strong SQL and Snowflake background and must have previous experience in the Asset Management industry for example previous experience in Fixed Income/OTC/Equites or Derivatives.
The Data Business Analyst will be comfortable operating in a technical environment, producing data mapping specifications, bridging the gap between requirements and development teams.
What you'll do:
- Drive business and data analysis for Client Group or Regulatory initiatives and complex change, working closely with Product Owners and senior stakeholders within the scrum teams.
- Gather, understand and document detailed requirements using appropriate tools and techniques, translating business requirements into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria and process documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and validate data requirements, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Identify barriers to transformation, supporting the prioritisation and scoping of complex backlog items.
- Contribute to solution design for data projects or programmes of change, paying particular focus to people, process, technology, risks, and controls.
- Engagement, reviews and testing with developers, testers, architects and business users.
- Pro-active resolution of issues, designing solutions and presenting recommendations to senior business stakeholders.
- Understanding data models, both normalised and denormalised to work across multiple systems and platforms.
- Part of a scrum team, working to agile methodologies and closely with stakeholders within client group, central data teams and technology.
- Strong understanding and experience working with analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Sigma, understanding the end-to-end data design and user experience.
The skills you'll need:
- Experienced Data Analyst with a strong grasp of the Asset Management industry for example previous experience in Fixed Income, OTC, Equites or Derivatives.
- Proven track record in business and data modelling, process design and solution concepts.
- Experience working within an agile framework with a proven record of successful delivery within a scrum team.
- Experience working with cloud data Platforms and relational and non-relational databases with SQL proficiencies to query and analyse them.
- Experience in SQL and Snowflake.
- Experience working with third party vendors & clients to use/provide/transform and report on data.
- Experience translating and adapting business requirements from various levels of internal stakeholders into value-add deliverables in the form of user stories.
- Experience working with architects, data management and data governance to deliver positive outcomes.
- Experience with testing various elements in product/solution design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data solutions into simplified explanations for non-technical business stakeholders.
