Role Overview
As Contracts Engineer you will support with all aspects of design and delivery in our piling projects, playing a key role in ensuring our projects are completed safely, efficiently and to budget without compromising on quality.
What you'll do
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
Visiting sites pre-commencement, identifying specifications, requirements, risks & opportunities
Preparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments and implement safe working practices
Carrying out site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks
Supporting with HSEQ audits, liaising with all relevant departments
Implementing all stages of a project from conception and design to site execution
Ensuring up to date Contract documentation is reviewed and in place
Maintaining site and work records/diaries, ensuring these are stored accurately
Liaise with the commercial team to identify changes and potential delays to tender
Involvement in procurement and scheduling of piles and materials
Provide control of costs and financial reporting to Piling Director and management team
Operating accounts system for control of material and plant orders
Develop excellent relationships with Site Managers, Clients and other stakeholders
Be the main point of contact, liaising with the client on progress and concerns
Carryout sequencing and programming of works
Attend site meetings as required, providing progress updates and overview
Support piling operatives on site, and assisting the operations manager
What you'll bring
As Contracts Engineer your main skills and experience will include:
Essential:
Third level qualification in Civil Engineering or other related discipline
2 years experience as a Civil Engineer
A strong understanding of HSEQ legislation, and implementing HSEQ procedures
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies
Fully flexible regarding travel, prepared to travel to site locations within the UK and Ireland
Ability to Manage and Control on site setting out
Ability to read and understand Construction drawings and Specifications
Full valid driving licence, that permits driving in the UK and Ireland
IT literate in all Microsoft Office applications
Desirable:
1-years experience engineering within the piling industry
CSR/CSCS Qualification or equivalent
Experience of using AutoCAD or other equivalent software
