The Position

The Sr. Manager, Operations Governance is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the technical and operational governance processes that support planned and executed production across Discovery Mining's assets. This role provides technical leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure operational performance, production objectives, and governance standards are aligned with the Company's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational leadership and guidance to site operations teams in support of the Company's strategic direction and production goals;
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert and provide consistent guidance in the areas of mine engineering, including mine planning and scheduling, mine design, mine infrastructure, geomechanics/ground control, ventilation, survey, and mine projects;
  • Collaborate with the Exploration group to support the definition and estimation of Mineral Resources for inclusion in mine plans and Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve (MRMR) statements;
  • Work closely with operational and corporate departments to support safe, efficient, and reliable production across Discovery Mining's operating assets;
  • Ensure leading industry practices are implemented through the development, review, and audit of technical policies, standards, and procedures;
  • Ensure timely delivery and quality of production planning and execution data to support budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and production reconciliation activities;
  • Develop and maintain processes, tools, and reporting frameworks to support reserve reconciliation and operational performance monitoring;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of operational objectives and technical initiatives;
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, consultants, and service providers to advance projects and initiatives that improve technical and operational performance;
  • Participate in technical reviews, evaluations, and due diligence activities, as required; and
  • Develop technical capability and qualifications toward assuming Discovery Mining's Qualified Person (QP) accountability.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining, including mine planning, technical services, strategic planning, or operations;
  • Experience with Life-of-Mine planning, scenario analysis, and business optimization;
  • Experience in underground and/or open pit mining environments;
  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling, production execution, and reconciliation processes;
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
